SSC Ultimate Aero, World’s Most Powerful’ Production Vehicle Title Built By An American-Sports Car

The SSC Aero is an American-built sports car, tested by Guiness World Records officials in Washington, the vehicle had to drive a pre-determined course, turn around and return within the hour in the opposite direction. With speed recordings on both runs, any discrepancies in course or conditions are ironed out.

The Ultimate Aero’s first run topped 257.11 mph, with the return run reaching 254.55 mph. Entering the record books will be the averaged figure of 255.83 mph. It nabs the ‘fastest production car’ title from Bugatti’s 253.2 mph Veyron. Performance is squeezed out of a twin-turbo eight-cylinder V-aligned engine, generating one thousand, one hundred and eighty three horsepower (read that again, that’s 1183 hp).

It beats even its more expensive supercar rivals on power hands down and easily allows the Ultimate Aero to claim ’world’s most powerful’ production vehicle title. In addition to ridiculously-high raw power, one thousand and ninety four (1094) lb-ft of torque is also on tap, coupled with the Aero’s lightweight, aerodynamic body and ‘the best handling systems available’.

The 2011 SSC Ultimate Aero is a powerful engine sports car manufactured by Shelby SuperCars. The precious SSC Ultimate Aero is the world’s fastest production car, which travels at a top speed of 257 mph. The new version is Shelby SSC Ultimate Aero has been modified where some changes have been added to the exteriors, interiors, and the increase of horsepower about 15%. The most important change is the single piece aluminum block engine that improves the oiling capabilities and structure of the engine, so that the SSC Ultimate Aero produces an output of about 1287 horsepower. Shelby hopes to beat the world record and just looking at the specifications, the car sounds like it will. The engine is a twin-turbo 6.8-litre V8 outputting 1007kW of power, or just over one megawatt, at 9000rpm. To add to the ridiculousness, the entire car only weighs 1179kg.
