Corvette GT1, RWD Drive System with Standard Aluminum Frame

                           




          For 2008, Corvette is the official Safety- and Leading Car for the FIA GT Championship. Corvette Europe supplied two Corvette’s Z06 to become the Official Safety and Leading Car for 2008. The program will continue through the season to the final FIA GT3 Championship race in Dubai and the final FIA GT Championship race in San Luis, Argentina.














          The standard steel frame has been replaced by Aluminum. The magnesium alloy engine is large using connecting rods of Titanium alloy and a dry-sump oiling system. The floor of the car is composite made of carbon fiber or balsa wood. You will get a high level of refinement with this car. The suspension geometry and the improved bodywork of the car along with providing greater passenger space make this possible.





           Technical specification of the car – The overall length and width of the car is 4539 mm and 1930 mm respectively. The wheelbase of the car is 2693 mm. The weight of the car is 1200kg while the maximum horsepower is 650 HP both following the 2010 regulations. The engine is of LS7 V8 variety. Displacement for the car is 7 litres. Maximum torque is TBX. The clutch is AP carbon clutches while both the front and rear brakes are AP carbon rotors and pads. The suspensions are made of double wishbone which are independent and either long or short. The gearbox is an Xtrac 6 speed sequential. The drive system is RWD and both the front and rear wheels are BBS while tyres are supplied by Michelin.
