The Cabrio is a step up from its predecessor and comes packing a choice of powerplants: a 3.5-liter V6 putting out 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque in E350 guise or a 5.5-liter V8 churning out 382 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque in the E550 cab.

The E-Class Convertible doesn't employ a retractable hard-top, but rather a 0.9-inch cloth roof that pays dividends in the capacity department. With the top up, the trunk is good for nearly 14 cubic feet of space and cut down to just over three cubic feet when the top is dropped and stowed behind the rear passengers.

The real party piece on the convertible E-Class is the new AirCap system, which includes a 2.4-inch wind deflector that extends from the windshield, along with a draft-stop mounted behind the rear seats. According to Mercedes, this limits the amount of wind intrusion into the passenger compartment up to speeds of 100 mph, keeping your perfectly coifed hair in check and making conversations easier when storming the autobahn.

The Mercedes-Benz F 700 Concept, Designed to be a low-consumption, low-emissions luxury sedan, the F 700 concept utilizes Mercedes’ DiesOtto and hybrid technologies. The result of the combined powertrain — consisting of a 238 horsepower 1.8 liter gasoline four-cylinder and a 20 horsepower electric motor — is a reported 44 mpg with CO2 emissions of just 127g/km, both figures being extremely low for a car of F 700′s size. In comparison, the Lexus GS450h has CO2 emissions of 186 g/km. The Mercedes-Benz F 700 also uses a transparent cover over the rear-wheels to enhance aerodynamics. Mercedes claims the Mercedes-Benz F 700 can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 7.5 seconds.

An all-new active suspension technology is also featured on the Mercedes-Benz F 700, dubbed PRE-SCAN. The new system uses two laser to scan the road in front of the car and automatically adjusts the suspension to suit conditions. The Mercedes-Benz F 700 also features SERVO-HMI (Human Machine Interface), a virtual operating assistant that the driver can converse with. The concept was designed at Mercedes’ Advanced Design Studio in Irvine, California.

Mercedes Benz SL 65 AMG Black Series Packing with Raw Power and A Stiff Suspension

Mercedes Benz SL 65 - Grey Edition

The new Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG packing with raw power and a stiff suspension. This high-performance coupĂ© is a motorsport engineering thoroughbred, opening up new drive dynamic vistas to sports car enthusiasts. The AMG 6.0 litre V12 biturbo engine, with a maximum output of 493 kW/670 hp and 1000 Newtonmetres of torque, guarantees super sports car level performance. The powerful two-seater was developed in the AMG Performance Studio and represents the continuation of the highly successful Black Series strategy pursued by AMG, the Mercedes-Benz Cars Performance brand.

The AMG V12's engine generates a maximum power of 493 kW/670 hp at 5400 rpm and an electronically limited torque of 1000 Newtonmetres between 2200 and 4200 rpm. Without a limiter, the AMG 6.0 litre V12 biturbo engine, which is hand-built in the AMG engine factory in accordance with the "one man - one engine" philosophy, would achieve a maximum torque of 1200 Newtonmetres. Compared with the basis power pack in the 450 kW/612 hp Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, new turbochargers were developed for the twelve-cylinder Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series engine. The turbochargers' spiral cross-section, now twelve per cent larger, and the optimised wastegate ducts permit increased air throughput and an even more impressive display of power in all engine speed ranges. The modified intake air ducting results in an even more spontaneous response.

The new design for the AMG sports exhaust gas system's rear silencers reduce the exhaust gas backpressure and help increase the power output. The acoustic side effect of this is to produce a distinctive twelve-cylinder sound, typically evocative of AMG engine tuning, from the two trapezoidal tail pipes. The low-temperature charge air cooler, now 30 per cent more powerful, and the optimised water cooling system guarantee not only that the power generated under extreme dynamic driving conditions is exploited to the maximum but also the greatest possible fatigue strength at high outside temperatures.
